Meet Joe...

Joe Marranca is dedicated to working hard for the citizens of North Tonawanda. As the youngest known elected official in the city’s history, he brings a fresh but proven perspective to city government, shaped by his lifelong roots in the community and a strong record of public service.

Joe is fortunate to have grown up with working-class parents who taught him the values of hard work, smart choices, and the importance of giving back. Born and raised in NT, he proudly graduated from North Tonawanda High School and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo.

While attending college, Joe began working in public service—holding key roles in the offices of Assemblyman Angelo Morinello, State Senator Rob Ortt, and former Mayor Art Pappas. In those positions, he gained firsthand experience in constituent services, responsible budgeting, and local policy-making.

Today, Joe works for the Niagara County Center for Economic Development, where he leads domestic and international marketing initiatives to attract businesses, create jobs, and stimulate growth across the region. After being appointed to a vacancy on the Common Council, Joe went on to win a full term as Third Ward Alderman in 2023.
Since taking office, Joe has led with a results-driven approach—prioritizing public safety, infrastructure, and quality-of-life improvements. He has supported funding for a new fire engine, enhancements to the police gun range, and modern traffic signal technology. He also voted to increase sidewalk repair funding in the 2025 budget to improve walkability and neighborhood safety.

Joe supported the creation of a landlord registry to hold absentee landlords accountable and co-sponsored legislation protecting residential areas from the development of nuclear and other energy-producing facilities. At City Hall, he has remained committed to fiscal responsibility—fighting to keep taxes in check and improve efficiency across departments.

Joe has also supported efforts to expand local internet options, enhance city parks, and promote community assets like the NT Botanical Gardens and the Lumber City Development Corporation’s work to revitalize business corridors.
